Digital Solutions in the public sector

Framework agreements can save you time when you need to make repeat purchases but don’t know exactly when or how much you’ll need. Buying standard services through the Frameworks is generally faster and cheaper than entering into individual procurement contracts.

Public Sector organisations, including agencies and arm’s length bodies, can use this simple but efficient method of purchasing.

Ask the following questions:

• What are the ‘must-haves’ and the ‘nice-to-haves’?

• What are your technical and procurement requirements? Read the government guidance on choosing technology

If you’re buying for central government, you’ll first have to go through the digital and IT spend controls process.

There are 2 methods available when buying from Network Services 3: (1) Direct Award; and (2) Further Competition.

With a Direct Award, you can easily procure products and services without the need to run a further competition when there is a valid Service Offer (SO) published on the Government eMarketplace. If your requirements meet the scope of the services and products provided under a relevant SO, you can procure using the Direct Award process. The first step is to contact your Account Manager who will help you to fill out the Direct Award Call Off Form.

Once you have reviewed and verified that the service available on the Digital Marketplace matches your requirements, you can proceed with procurement by contacting your Account Manager who will help you with the Call-Off Contract process.
