Vodafone, Official Connectivity Partner of Wimbledon

Serving up innovation at Wimbledon

VIPs, freshly cut grass, tennis whites, and strawberries and cream herald British summer and the coveted Wimbledon trophy. However, beneath the nostalgia and tradition lies a serious volley of innovative connectivity technology to produce excellent results year after year. And this year. Once again, we’re part of the innovation action!

Smashing it on the move

180 Vodafone Smart Hubs have been fitted into the Official Car of The Championships. The Smart Hub turns the vehicles into a WiFi hotspot, which allows VIPs to have fast, reliable enterprise-grade WiFi connectivity on the move.

With the help of Vodafone ambassador and British Tennis legend Tim Henman, we put our IoT connectivity to the test and gave a junior player a VIP trip to Wimbledon in an All-Electric Jaguar I-PACE.

From crop to Centre Court

Strawberries at Wimbledon are iconic – so getting them right is a must. A trusted supplier of 30 years, Hugh Lowe Farms hand-pick every strawberry at dawn each day of The Championships, ensuring they're perfectly ripe. Last year we helped Marion and her team deliver the best quality strawberries, on time, each day with our Mobile Asset Tracking and MyFarmWeb, a cloud-based IoT solution for farmers.
