How does an eSIM work in a phone?

An eSIM is a specialised microchip that's built into the phone. This chip allows you to create several eSIM profiles, which act like physical SIM cards.

Each profile has its own phone number and data plan.

Set up your eSIM

After registering for your eSIM you will receive a QR code, scan that to start setting up.

Step 1 - Scan QR code

Scan the QR code you've just received from another device. To scan open the camera on your phone, point it at the QR code photo and tap on the prompt that pops up. Then follow the steps on the screen.

Step 2 - Select eSIM

If you have a SIM already installed in your phone, you might be asked to select which SIM to use for your data and default number. Select the Vodafone eSIM for both - you can change this anytime.
