UK data, minutes and texts
An allowance to use data, call standard UK mobiles and landlines (starting 01, 02 or 03), and standard texts to UK mobiles. You can also make calls to 08 and 118 numbers, but these aren't included in your plan, so please remember that they're subject to an additional charge. You can find more information on this in the Additional Charges table below.

Take your home plan abroad
You can use your UK allowance of data, minutes and texts in Zone A (Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Iceland and Norway) at no extra cost.

There is a daily charge of £2.42 a day to use your allowance in our Europe Zone (Zone B). You can reduce this cost by using one of our Roaming Passes, which are available for our Europe Zone.

Roaming further afield in Zone D costs £7.39 a day for all plans. You can check out all of our zones and destinations on our roaming page

Just to note, there is a 25GB of data roaming fair usage policy that applies to your monthly data usage and using your phone abroad for long periods of time may incur additional charges. Terms apply

My Vodafone App and VeryMe Rewards
My Vodafone makes life admin easier, so you can focus on doing what you love. You can manage your account on-the-go, check your usage and bills easily and get help from us whenever you need it. Just download it from the App Store or Google Play Store once you have your plan.

Our new rewards programme puts you at the very heart of it, with weekly discounts and giveaways based on what you love. The more you use VeryMe Rewards, the more it becomes very you - and all Vodafone Pay monthly customers can benefit.

Tethering
Your Vodafone Basics SIM can be used to share your device's data allowance with another device at no extra charge. You can even tether or hotspot all of your data to other devices if you want.

Changing your plan
Vodafone Basics plans can be upgraded once your 12-month contract ends, or you can swap to another SIM only plan at any point during your 12-month contract. All SIM only plans are eligible, so if you're looking for something that isn't included with Vodafone Basics, take a look at our SIM only plans for more plans, and even more options.

If you don't use it, you shouldn't have to pay for it. But if you're wondering if there's anything you'd miss, make sure you'll be happy without the features listed below:

• International calls are not available with Vodafone Basics

• Premium calls starting 09, Premium messages, MMS, M-Pay (or mobile payment software), and calls and outgoing messages with adult content are barred

• Upgrades aren't available during your plan, but you can switch to another SIM only or Vodafone Basics plan

• Extras aren't compatible, except for Data, 08 number minute Extras, and Roaming Passes for our Europe Zone

• OneNumber connectivity, which enables you to share your phone’s data with your smartwatch and tablet, isn’t compatible with this plan

Though we've removed most of the features which could cost you more on Vodafone Basics, there are some additional charges that apply should you choose to use any of the services below.

Annual Price Increase
During your minimum period, each year, on 1 April, your monthly Basics Plan charge will increase by £1. Out of bundle charges will increase each April by Consumer Price Index rate published in January that year +3.9%. See details

Cancellations
You can cancel your contract at any time during the first 14 days with a full refund. After this you'll need to pay an early termination fee to cover the remaining cost of your contract.

Vodafone Basics are our simple, everyday plans. They come with unlimited minutes, texts and an allowance of data.

Vodafone Basics plans are capped so you never need to worry about going over your allowances. This means, picture messages, International calls and Premium calls starting 09 are not available.

Vodafone Basics plans offer an allowance of data, minutes and texts at a lower price.

What they don't have is some of the features that can make your plan more expensive.

No, Vodafone Basics plans are only available for new customers joining us from another network, or if you're upgrading from Vodafone Pay as you go to a Vodafone Basics plan.

See your upgrade offers

Yes, you can upgrade to another SIM only plan at any point, meaning you can easily swap your Vodafone Basics plan to another if you find you need more data.

If you decide you need a plan that includes picture messages, International and Premium calls starting 09, you can choose any of our other SIM only plans

However, you can only upgrade to a plan with a phone once your 12-month Vodafone Basics contract ends.

If you upgrade to a Vodafone EVO plan, you can upgrade as soon as three months into your Phone Plan or just three months into your Airtime Plan (excluding customers who have already paid off their credit agreement).

Yes - three types of Extras are compatible with Vodafone Basics plans. You can add Data Extras, 08 number minute Extras, or Europe Roaming Passes to your plan.

These can easily be activated by texting us a code. Data and 08 number minute Extras will renew automatically every 30 days and the cost will be added to your bill each month until you choose to remove them from your plan.

Roaming passes for our Europe Zone are available at £12 for 8 days or £17 for 15 days, or £2.42 for a single day pass.

You can use your Vodafone Basics plan in the UK and abroad.

Travelling outside of Europe? It's just £7.39 a day to use your UK allowance in 107 worldwide destinations (Zones C and D)

The best way to get additional data is by upgrading to another Vodafone Basics plan with more data.

You can also add data to your plan when you activate a Data Extra.

Your extra data lasts for a month, and you can opt in by texting us the relevant code, which can be found in the My Vodafone app or by logging in to your account online.

Your Data Extra will renew automatically every 30 days and the cost will be added to your bill each month until you choose to remove them from your plan.

Only Vodafone Roaming Passes are compatible with Vodafone Basic, other Vodafone Passes aren't.

If you're new to Vodafone, or you're an existing Pay as you go customer, you can keep your phone number with your new Vodafone Basics plan.

Once you receive your SIM and your new phone number, simply fill out our Keep My Number Form to continue using your current Vodafone Pay as you go number.

If you're joining us from another network, you'll need a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) from your old provider before you can fill in the form.

You will be able to call standard UK mobiles and landlines (starting 01, 02 or 03) as well as Freefone numbers starting 0800, 0808 - when using your mobile in the UK.

You can also make calls to 084, 087 and 118 numbers, but these aren't included in your plan, so please remember that they're subject to an additional charge

Your Vodafone Basics plan will not allow you to make Premium calls starting 09 or International calls.

Yes, all our Vodafone Basics plans use our 4G network, covering 99% of the UK population.

These plans don't offer access to our 5G network.

Whichever SIM card you need, our Vodafone 3-in-1 Multi SIM will do the job as it includes a Standard SIM, microSIM or nanoSIM - simply pop out the size you need.

If you're already a Vodafone customer and want to swap your Pay monthly contract to SIM only at the end of your agreement, you can keep the SIM card you've already got - we'll do the rest at our end.
