Predicted data usage is equivalent to 69,000 hours of HD video streaming on the Nation’s Network or uploading 61 million Instagram photo posts.
Vodafone returns as Glastonbury’s Official Connectivity Partner for the second year of their multi-year partnership.
The official Glastonbury Festival app, created by Vodafone, launched last week. It has several exclusive new features, such as Spotify integration, Map Pinning and shareable Line-ups, meaning users can now easily spot clashes when sets overlap.
Vodafone will once again offer free phone charging, WiFi and battery packs on-site at their Vodafone Connect & Charge stand to help keep festivalgoers connected.
Vodafone, Glastonbury’s Official Connectivity Partner, has today predicted it will see the most Vodafone data ever used at Glastonbury Festival, rising 30% from last year and taking total data consumption on site to over 215 terabytes. That’s the equivalent of 69,000 hours of HD video streaming on the Nation’s Network or the uploading of 61 million Instagram photo posts.
With more than 200,000 people set to attend the iconic festival, Vodafone’s reliable, award-winning network* will be boosted to provide the most capacity ever at Worthy Farm, with 10 masts deployed around the festival site. Vodafone’s increased capacity will ensure it delivers an incredible network experience and guarantee attendees can stay in touch with friends and family, as well as share all their amazing content from the weekend.
Here to a-moo-se: Vodafone COWs coming to 2024 special events
Vodafone gears up to make 2024 another great year for mobile signal coverage at special events across the country.
In addition to delivering a best-in-class network, Vodafone has also launched a brand-new official Glastonbury 2024 app. Unveiled last week, the app is packed with a number of game-changing features, such as:
Spotify Integration – ‘Discover’ feature will recommend artists performing at the festival based on fans’ Spotify profiles.
Upgrades to the ‘Line-up’ feature – Fans will be able to share their Line-up with friends, while the new improved Line-up will highlight when one or more favourited artists overlap. Users can also now pin their favourite stages to the top, saving them time scrolling down every time to find their favourite acts.
All-new Map Pinning – Allows festival fans to set waypoints to meet their friends, find their tent, and remember where they parked their car.
Introduction of trader information – The ability to filter the Map for food stalls, camping shops and official merchandise stands.
Vodafone’s Connect & Charge stand will return again this summer, located near the Other Stage and next to the Glade. It will provide all festivalgoers, regardless of their network, with a technology retreat – offering free charging so they have enough battery to capture their favourite acts as well as free WiFi to contact friends and family.
Vodafone will also keep ticket holders powered-up throughout the festival by giving them the opportunity to purchase fully-charged power banks, before and during the event. For every mobile battery pack purchased, Vodafone will donate a pre-loaded SIM card to a charity in the South West that is supporting digitally-excluded people, allowing festival fans to help give back to the local community.
Glastonbury attendees can reserve their power banks ahead of the festival (£20 plus a £10 deposit) and collect them at the event from Vodafone’s Connect & Charge site. For those who kept their battery pack from last year, bring it to one of Vodafone’s swap sites, sign up for the weekend exchange, and only pay the cost to hire (no deposit) to stay fully charged up all weekend.
