Vodafone network improvements check out at 10 shopping centres

Vodafone network improvements, both 5G and 4G, are being rolled out in shopping centres across the UK.

  • Vodafone 5G currently rolling out in leading shopping centres across London, Manchester and Cardiff.
  • Shopping hubs across London, Milton Keynes, Basingstoke and Leeds also receiving 4G improvements.

Ten of the busiest shopping centres and hubs across the UK have turned to Vodafone to improve mobile coverage for their shoppers, retailers and employees.

Dedicated 5G systems are currently being installed across Trafford Centre in Manchester and Cardiff St David. This follows the installation of 5G at West One Shopping Centre in Bond Street, London earlier this year.

With its much faster data speeds and shorter connectivity times, 5G could help retailers be front of the queue when it comes to new technology advancements. For example, it could be used to support new sales initiatives, such as virtual reality (VR) promotions, interconnected mirrors or avatar shopping services.

At the same time, Vodafone 4G improvements are also being made at several other shopping locations including both Westfield Stratford and White City in London, INTU in Milton Keynes, Festival Place in Basingstoke, and Leeds’ Trinity Centre. Enhanced Vodafone 4G will improve the shopping experience by delivering fast data speeds as well as more reliable coverage for ePOS (electronic Point of Sale) systems.

Andrea Dona, Vodafone’s UK Network and Development Director, said: “By installing our technology in shopping centres, we can support this essential part of the economy, ensuring they have the tools they need to grow.

“At the same time, our customers can rely on our most reliable network to ensure they stay connected during their visit, now and in the future.”
