The company's continuing commitment to equality and equity for all LGBT+ people has been recognised.
Vodafone UK has ranked highly in the 2024 Stonewall Workplace Equality Ranking, released today. Out of 246 companies, Vodafone placed sixth, up from 61st in last year’s index.
Stonewall, a leading LGBT+ rights charity, uses the ranking to assess the progress and achievements that organisations have made on workplace equality.
Vodafone has extensive training programmes for its employees so they can understand and support their LGBT+ colleagues. HR policies, such as those for parental leave, use gender-neutral language, while our internal employee network (LGBT+ Friends) organises events and initiatives throughout the year and advises the company on LGBT+ issues.
Why I’m proud to be Vodafone UK’s new LGBT+ Executive Sponsor
Andrea Donà, Chief Network Officer & Network Director at Vodafone UK, explains what becoming the company’s new Executive Sponsor for the LGBT+ and Friends Network means to him, ahead of Pride 2024.
The company is an active member of the community, attending key events such as Newbury Pride, UK Black Pride and Bi Pride. Colleagues from across the business have, in the past, also been recognised for their contributions to the LGBT+ community.
The company’s charitable arm – Vodafone Foundation – helped launch Zoteria, an app that LGBT+ people can use to report hate crimes and then access help and support.
Andrea Dona, Chief Network Officer, Vodafone UK, said: “I’ve always been incredibly proud of our commitment to equality and the strong progress that I’ve witnessed, in all areas, across the five years that I’ve been here.
“Thanks to the experience and expertise that exists throughout Vodafone and our LGBT+ network, I’m confident that – together – we can ensure freedom and equality remain universal for everyone.”
