Roman Kemp turns pie maker at Vodafone’s Easy Peasy Pie Shop

Pop-up shop opened in London's East End to celebrate One Touch Switch, which makes switching to Vodafone's reliable Full Fibre Broadband as 'easy as pie'.

  • Broadcaster Roman Kemp served up the nation’s favourite pies to excited punters for free, with recipes curated by cook Lisa Faulkner, known for her easy home-cooking style.
  • One Touch Switch means switching to Vodafone’s reliable Full Fibre Broadband for less is now as ‘easy as pie’, giving customers up to £100* towards exit fees and offering savings of £223** for customers switching from BT.
  • The pop-up comes as new research finds 1 in 10 admit they’re spooked by switching – in fact, households across the nation haven’t switched in four years due to being put off by the process being complicated (17%), long (14%) and expensive (14%).

People in the capital got a taste of the nation’s favourite pies today as broadcaster Roman Kemp and cook Lisa Faulkner teamed up to turn their hands to pie making at Vodafone’s Easy Peasy Pie Shop.

The pie shop, located in the heart of London’s East End, opened its doors to celebrate the launch of One Touch Switch, which makes switching to Vodafone’s reliable Full Fibre Broadband for less as ‘easy as pie’.

BT customers moving to Vodafone can save over £223** and, to make it even easier to switch, Vodafone will offer up to £100* towards contract exit fees.

Dished out for free by Roman and Lisa, punters picked from a selection of the nation’s favourite pies, including steak and craft ale, chicken, ham and leek, and jackfruit and craft ale. The pie recipes were curated by Lisa, who is famous for her homely and easy peasy cooking style.

One Touch Switch has been designed to make switching broadband easier. New research shows 63% of Brits have put off switching providers for the last four years because of the fear of being without internet (27%) and the switching process being too much faff (20%). Over half (56%) feel ‘stuck’ in their contracts and, as a result, are missing out on savings of £23*** per month.

Vodafone launches One Touch Switch

New One Touch Switch makes switching to Vodafone’s reliable Full Fibre Broadband easier than ever.

But, while 15% admit they’re spooked by the switch, a quarter (25%) actually say they want to make a change, and would do so if the process was easier (70%) or if someone could manage it for them (75%).

Luckily for them, switching is now easier than ever thanks to the roll out of One Touch Switch. Vodafone will speak to the customers’ current broadband provider and handle the switchover, saving time and speeding up the process.

Pie-enthusiast and broadcaster, Roman Kemp, said: “When Vodafone asked me to help serve up delicious pies, I couldn’t say no… pies are a staple for me, whether I’m at home or at the footie, so I couldn’t resist the chance of learning the art of making them and getting my hands on one for free!

“Lisa has taught me a lot today about the craft of a good pie, but I think I’ll stay away from the kitchen as it doesn’t seem that easy… not like switching to Vodafone Broadband, which actually is as easy as pie!”

What is WiFi 6E? WiFi router differences explained

There are various versions of WiFi – which one your router and devices have will determine the speed and range of your wireless internet connection. We explain what they are and how to find out which ones you have.

All Vodafone Broadband plans come with WiFi 6 as standard and, for those wanting unbreakable WiFi throughout the home, Vodafone’s market-leading Pro II WiFi 6E packages come with automatic 4G broadband back up, so customers don’t lose connectivity when they need it most.

With customers exempt from any mid-contract price rises until April 2025, and a new plan offering speeds of up to  2.2Gbps****, there has never been a better time to switch to Vodafone.

Vodafone’s Easy Peasy Pie Shop is open today, for one day only, at New Inn Yard, Shoreditch, serving free pie on a first-come, first-served basis. For every pie given out, Vodafone will make a donation to its charity partner Trussell, an anti-poverty charity and network of food banks, which provide emergency food and practical support to people facing hardship.
