The rating comes from RootMetrics, a leading independent network testing authority, which benchmarked all the UK’s mobile networks in cities across the country.
Vodafone’s mobile network in the UK has won an award for reliability. The award comes from RootMetrics, a respected and independent network benchmarking firm, which tested all four of the UK’s mobile network operators in major cities during the first half of 2021.
In RootMetric’s testing, Vodafone’s network proved to be highly reliable in 10 of the 13 cities surveyed: Belfast, Birmingham, Coventry, Edinburgh, Hull, Leeds and Bradford, Leicester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Sheffield.
RootMetric’s recognition of Vodafone’s unbeatable network follows the company’s multi-billion pound investment in its UK network over the past six years.
Vodafone continues to invest in and improve every aspect of its mobile network. From using artificial intelligence to find and fix faults before they affect customers, to improving the energy efficiency of its 5G masts.
Vodafone has been a driving force behind the Shared Rural Network (SRN), which will bring 4G mobile coverage to previously underserved rural communities. Vodafone is also leading the way in designing and deploying masts using OpenRAN technology, a more flexible way of designing and building critical mobile network infrastructure.
Andrea Donà, Vodafone UK’s Network and Development Director, said: “Whether you’re treating yourself to a brand-new iPhone 13 or sticking with what you have, a reliable network is vital. I am so proud of my team who continue to work tirelessly in bringing the best possible network experience to our customers.”
