iPhone X was Apple’s biggest launch for a number of years, and represented a departure on a number of levels. In 2018, Apple released three new phones. iPhone XS and XS Max are natural successors to iPhone X. iPhone XR features many of the innovations Apple brought in with this new generation, at a significantly keener price.
Available in six colours, iPhone XR houses the same powerful A12 Bionic chip as its pricier siblings. It boasts a beautiful 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display, which, thanks to advances in Apple’s LCD technology, features the same edge-to-edge screen design that made iPhone X such a hit.
The single-lens camera is loaded with all of Apple’s new features, including Depth Control to liven up your portraits, and Smart HDR which improves contrast and saturation, bringing out subtle textures of shade and colour. Both are outstanding phones – if you’re after the very latest tech from Apple, you might be best choosing iPhone XS rather than iPhone X, but for a superb smart phone that won’t break the bank, iPhone XR is a great option.
