iPhone 16 vs iPhone 16 Plus
Which one is best for you?
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are part of Apple's 2024 release. This generation of iPhone models have Apple Intelligence built into the device (coming December 2024). Apple Intelligence is artificial intelligence, and you can learn more about AI on our AI phones comparison page. Both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are very similar, but there are two key differences.
The first is that iPhone 16 Plus has a 6.7-inch screen, which is larger than the iPhone 16 at 6.1 inches and the iPhone 16 Pro at 6.3 inches. This larger screen is ideal for those who prefer a larger interface for gaming and watching videos. Like the iPhone 16, it also has a Super Retina XDR display. This larger screen means the iPhone 16 Plus comes in at 199 grams, as opposed to iPhone 16's 170 grams. However, it is the same weight as iPhone 16 Pro which is 199 grams - so the weight isn't bad at all.
The second key difference is battery life: iPhone 16 Plus has 27 hours video playback whereas the iPhone 16 only has 22 hours. You may want to consider this if you watch a lot of videos or play games which can drain iPhone battery life quite quickly.
Otherwise, both iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have the same features. They both have A18 chips, 48MP cameras with 12MP Ultra Wide lenses, an Action button, USB-C with USB 2, and the latest-generation of Ceramic Shield glass on the front, which is tougher than any smartphone glass. They're also both housed in an aluminium body with the same choice of colours available.
Really, the deciding factor between iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Plus is the screen size. The iPhone 16 Plus has a slightly higher price point, so this may be a factor in your decision-making too. Whatever you choose, they're both excellent iPhone models.
