dock10 trusts Vodafone to deliver the UK’s favourite shows
Overview
Based at the heart of MediaCity, dock10 is the UK’s leading television facility where some of the nation’s best-loved programmes are made.
dock10’s cross-site fibre network must meet rapidly growing demand from businesses in MediaCity that depend on exceptional connectivity, telephony and broadband.
To meet this challenge, Vodafone has delivered its One Net Enterprise cloud telephony platform.
Meet dock10
Founded in 2010, dock10 is the UK’s leading television facility where some of the nation’s favourite shows are made. Based at the heart of MediaCity, they offer broadcasters, production companies and creative agencies twelve world-class HD studios and specialist post-production services to produce award-winning content.
The challenge
A significant network investment
The vital technology that underpins the success of MediaCity is managed by dock10. Their high-speed fibre network and international connectivity can deliver live and on-demand content in any format to anywhere.
As MediaCity is due to expand in the coming years, dock10 is seeking to make a significant investment. They aim to deliver a next-generation network which gives their tenants access to the very latest functionality and network services.
“In Vodafone we found a partner that could deliver a scalable cloud telephony platform; through to flexible support services that could dovetail with our own operations; and additional connectivity to pick up future services.”
The solution
A next-generation cloud-based platform
dock10 has partnered with Vodafone to deliver a network for the future. The tech giant has deployed the Vodafone One Net Enterprise platform with the latest comms functionality. It brings together different communication and collaboration apps into a single cloud-based system. Combining a high-density, high-speed LAN environment and a 5G mast, it provides speeds across MediaCity up to four times faster than 4G.
The benefits
Quick and secure broadcasts
With Vodafone One Net Enterprise broadcasters can now deliver quicker and more securely than ever before.
A lot of shows are delivered right up to transmission or right to a live studio show. As they’re shifting large amounts of data around the building or delivering them off campus, having a stable technology infrastructure is a must for media companies.
The new platform also provides the software control tools and analytics that can mitigate potential cybersecurity threats.
“It's really reassuring to our teams to know that we have such a reliable network. That means we can continue delivering high-quality film content for our clients,” says Karen Milligan, Director of Creative Services.
Vodafone One Net Enterprise
Integrated voice across all devices

A leading smart city
The investment in the fibre network on the MediaCity campus is great news for local businesses and the many creative and digital agencies hosted there.
dock10 is helping to cement MediaCity’s position as a leading digital and creative cluster and innovation hub. With Vodafone they’re laying the foundations for it to become one of the UK’s leading smart cities.
